Youth Community Mental Health Program
Based out of Notre Dame House, the Community Mental Health Program serves street-involved youth ages 16-21 in Hamilton, meeting youth at various residential and non-residential programs within Good Shepherd Youth Services and the Street Youth Planning Collaborative (SYPC). Youth are supported through the provision of youth focused, evidence informed mental health services.

Based out of Notre Dame House, the Community Mental Health Program serves street-involved youth ages 16-21 in Hamilton. The program meets youth at various residential and non-residential programs within Good Shepherd Youth Services and the Street Youth Planning Collaborative (SYPC). Youth are supported through the provision of evidence-informed mental health services. Consultation and liaison is also provided to staff and mental health and medical services in the community. Through referrals from other agencies, the community mental health program provides services to meet the needs of the youth, many of whom have serious and complex mental health issues.
What the Community Mental Health Program offers:
- Crisis Intervention for suicidal and seriously ill youth who need hospitalization
- Mental health assessments
- Consultation with child and adolescent psychiatrists
- Evidence-informed individual therapy
- Skills for Life group education
- Staff training at Good Shepherd Youth Services and the SYPC agencies to increase the mental health knowledge and skills of frontline workers
