Good Shepherd’s new mobile health clinic, Health on Wheels, is now on the road!
The clinic provides on-the-spot mental health care, medical, harm reduction and peer support services outside of traditional healthcare settings.
Along with the support of the Shelter Health Network, the Health on Wheels clinical team includes:
- nurse practitioner
- registered nurse
- mental health worker
- peer support worker
- harm reduction services
Health on Wheels enhances services available to people who face healthcare barriers while accessing emergency shelters, encampments, drop-ins and other community-based locations.
This program is funded by the Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund. The Community Services Recovery Fund is a $400 million investment from the Government of Canada to support community service organizations, including charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies, as they adapt and modernize their organizations.
