Winter Wonderland 2023 – Volunteer Registration

Looking for a meaningful volunteer experience this holiday season? Join us at Christmas Wonderland, Good Shepherd’s Annual Christmas Dinner for the community. (Please fill out the contact form below to register as a volunteer)

*This event will honour high school community service hours.
* Proof of a COVID-19 vaccination will not be required to volunteer for this one-time event.

Date: Sunday December 17, 2023
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
*Some volunteer roles require an earlier arrival time and/or a later end time. The average time commitment for this event ranges from 4-6 hours.
Location: Hamilton Convention Centre, 1 Summer’s Lane, Hamilton

Volunteer Roles:

• Activity Assistant – Help children in the bouncy castle room with ticketing, assisting onto games, and ensuring the safety of children.
• Beverages – Help replenish coffee, tea and hand out water bottles/juice boxes.
• Clean Up Crew – Help keep litter off the ground and tables and manage the garbage and recycling. Some lifting required.
• Dishing Out – Plate portioned food from buffet table for servers.
• Elves – Give out candy canes to children waiting in line and help hold spots in line for bathroom breaks.
• Gift Room Set-Up and Sorting – Set-up gift room and sort toys in age groups. Some lifting may be required.
• Gift Room – Hand out gifts to children and keep table stocked.
• Security/Ushering- Direct guests to rooms and assist guests if problems arise.
• Serving Food – Serve plated meals to guests and clear tables.
• Set-Up – Set up the event. Includes tables and tablecloths, cutlery, cups, candy, etc.,). Some lifting may be required.
• Pre-Set – Prepping for dinner by filling trays and containers (salt, pepper, sugar, butter, buns, etc.).
• Toiletries – Hand out hygiene gift pack to adults after their turkey dinner.
• Volunteer Registration – Check volunteers in, delegate name tags and locations and help keep the volunteer room stocked and tidy.
• Winter Apparel – Provide guests waiting in line with winter apparel items.
