Assisted Living for Seniors

The focus of assistance in the Assisted Living Program is to promote and strengthen the individual’s health and social environment. We work with clients and families to find the best possible ways to maintain independent living while respecting the dignity and personal choices of the individual. The staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help clients on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis.

Barrett Centre for Crisis Support

Barrett Centre for Crisis Support provides a safe environment in the community for individuals who are experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis and who do not require a hospital stay. We serve all genders, 16 years of age or older. Our confidential and free services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Community Support Services for Women & Children

Available as part of Good Shepherd’s Women’s Services; Violence Against Women Community Counselling, Child & Youth Counselling, Wellness Program, Learning Effective Anti-Violence in Families (LEAF), Legal Advocate, Family Court Support Worker, Good Shepherd Health Clinic, Comfort Foot Care.

Creative Works Studio

Creative Works Studio (CWS) is operated by Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Inc. as a community arts-based studio. The studio was founded in 1995 by Isabel Fryszberg, an occupational therapist and practicing artist with a vision that these two occupations could have significant benefit for persons living with mental illness and/or addictions. The Creative Works Studio’s mandate is to provide individuals living with mental illness and/or addictions a place to heal through the power of artistic expression.

Emergency Clothing Program

The Emergency Clothing Program provides cost-free help for families and individuals in need. If you need to use our services, please call us at 905-972-9485 for info and visit in person to register for the program. Please bring I.D. for all household members when you register. Registration hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Program hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Emergency Food Program (Venture Centre)

The Good Shepherd Venture Centre Emergency Food Program is a dignified, efficient and safe space where emergency food and clothing is easily accessible for clients. If you have questions about the food & clothing program, please call us at 905.972.9485. All new registrations must sign up in person. Registration hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. *Please bring I.D. for all household members with proof of address when you register in person.

Grocery and program hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Emmanuel House Hospice

Emmanuel House is more than a hospice; it is a place for people to experience their end-of-life journey with dignity and comfort in a place that feels like home. The Residential Hospice is where we provide 24-hour care for people with a life-limiting illness and require comfort and support for themselves and their families. COVID 19 UPDATE: All visitors must continue to wear a mask at all times, inside the hospice and when visiting outdoors with a resident.
